Grace - Holy Trinity Primary School
Why did you choose CofE as a provider?
So I chose the Church of England as a provider because of their vision and they want all children from all backgrounds to have opportunities and a solid education. For me, the coaching element was a really important part because I like the idea of having face-to-face, 1 to 1, support in small groups and also with a person who kind of knows a lot about teaching and the programme.
What’s been the best thing about your NPQ so far
The best thing for me has been the opportunity to meet other teachers from all different age groups. I think its really useful working with early years primary and with the secondary and the networking and sharing experiences for me has probably been the most useful thing.
What Impact is the NPQ making on your role?
So I lead art in my school and I feel like its made me think about the way that I lead and also the fact that we look at a lot of research and evidence has really helped me to understand why my school does things the way they do it so for me the exposure to lots of research has been really useful.
What message would you give someone considering an NPQ with CofE?
I would say to take the opportunity! The content is really accessible and I found that the coaching has been really useful the chance to really reflect on your practice and to be with other people who are like-minded and to network at the sessions has been really useful as well.
So definitely just do it.
How have you found the practice coaching element of your NPQ?
I found that part really useful, I think being in a smaller group with a smaller number of people has been really helpful. I’ve found having conversations one on one with people enables you to work through your ideas and allows you to be ambitious and think about things in more detail.
